You won't care how much we know - until you know how much we care.

"Danny" - Black Labrador Retriever, Grateful for Pet Insurance

At this stage in January most people's New Year resolve will already be foundering. Certainly, "Danny's" ambitions of becoming slimmer still have some way to go before they are fully realised. However, whilst his owners may wrestle with this perennial problem of weight loss they are at least confident of ensuring that any unforeseen medical problems will be covered by Pet Plan health insurance.

Throughout 2010 we saw a very disturbing trend in bad debts and even insurance fraud as owners struggle to cope with unexpected health bills. Despite many people's misconceptions, a significant number of clients will have their pets "put down" when they become ill or injured to avoid paying for their recovery. In the current economic climate this is a reality that is faced by veterinary practices throughout the country. Sadly, there is only a finite number of patients that staff members can adopt!

Whilst pet health insurance carries no guarantees that your pet will survive it will allow pets like "Danny" every possible opportunity to recover. Twice thus far he has been grateful for their contribution towards a bout of severe gastroenteritis and excision of a tumour.

It is gratifying to know that a dog like "Danny" with such a wonderful personality will never have to face such stark financial decisions regarding his welfare. Although with his exceptionally friendly nature I would probably take him home myself!
