RCVS
Accredited Veterinary Practice
Fairfield Veterinary Centre is the only RCVS Accredited Veterinary
Practice in the Hinckley and Burbage area.
The Fairfield Veterinary Centre welcomes the new
initiative from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to raise
standards amongst the veterinary profession. The RCVS deals with
issues of professional misconduct and aims to maintain a quality
assurance framework to promote the highest standards of veterinary
care.
With the emergence of "cost cutting clinics"
and some "veterinary practices"' now neither owned nor
managed by veterinary surgeons concerns have been raised regarding
the provision of adequate care and sustaining public confidence
in veterinary medicine.
The establishment of this new benchmark will offer
peace of mind to those clients of accredited practices and allow
greater choice for those who currently opt to have their pets
treated at non accredited premises.
In order to achieve accreditation stringent standards
have to be met and rigorous inspections are carried out every
four years.
- 1) The monitoring and maintenance of anaesthesia
- 2) Level of nursing care
- 3) Well maintained facilities
- 4) Modern diagnostic equipment
- 5) Investment in further professional learning
- 6) Well stocked and maintained dispensing pharmacy
The Fairfield Veterinary Centre has always placed
considerable emphasis on it's expertise and level of care. Consequently,
there has always been significant investment on the continued
education of our already highly qualified staff.
As an accredited practice we are now able to demonstrate
to pet owners that not all veterinary practices are the same!
Accreditation provides official recognition of the
high standards that already exist within the Fairfield Veterinary
Centre.
