From an early age, I knew I wanted to work with animals. My first step was to complete a BTECH National Diploma in Animal Management course, which I achieved at Distinction level in 2007. During this course I undertook work experience in various Veterinary practices and thoroughly enjoyed what the role of a Veterinary Nurse entailed, so I decided this was the career for me. At 20 years old, I got a work experience placement at Fairfield Veterinary Centre and this is where my journey here began! I undertook a course to become an Animal Nursing Assistant, completing this at Distinction level in 2010. Following this I was enrolled as a student Veterinary Nurse and qualified proudly in June 2013.
My particular areas of interest include anaesthesia, laboratory work such as taking blood samples and running tests, and nursing in-patients with medical conditions.
I do, of course, have animals of my own; I currently have two guinea pigs and two English Pointer dogs, all with big personalities!
In my spare time I enjoy taking my dogs for long walks, outings with my family and friends, and evenings in with a good boxset!Back to our staff
